Levi’s – Look Book F/W ’09

Looking at the Levi’s fall/winter look book you could be forgiven for imagining that the designers at Fibre had hammered it out on a mechanical typewriter (they didn’t, the lo-fi look was actually achieved with a very hi-fi typeface).

Following the success of spring/summer, Levi’s Red Tab asked Fibre and Jethro Marshall to collaborate again on the “bible”. Citing positive feedback from the eight Levi’s European territories, they asked that the product book retain its money-saving tête-bêche format but that the art direction and typography follow the new themes of “vagabonds” and “into the wild”.

Taking their inspiration from personal journals and band-on-the-road styling, Fibre designed the books to have the look of hand-made journals, from the Singer-sewn binding of the lifestyle book to the single black rubber band that collates them – and that old typewriter of course.
