The pitch meeting went so well, Fibre never got the job. Not something you’d usually advertise, but Diesel so loved the navigation Fibre presented, they decided to turn
it into a digital art project cum promo piece.
Thus what started out as an element of a large-scale CD-ROM was distributed as a business card-sized disc for the launch of the company’s upscale ‘Style Lab’ store. Using a laboratory theme, the cards feature an interactive molecular structure that users can rotate in three dimensions and zoom in and out of, while a special button embedded in a molecule morphs the structure into whole other molecular forms. Clicking on its different cells reveals a swatch of fabric from the collection. And all choreographed to a suitably techy, lo-fi soundtrack Fibre composed on the PlayStation™.
